Jereality

Hey! My name is long and complicated, so you can call me Jereality! Pretty easy, eh? Anyway, I’ve been writing my little stories, and things for a couple years now. I first found out that I liked writing on a children’s site, where I discovered Role Playing. I did, and still do all kinds.

I mainly write fiction…In fact, it’s all fiction. So, mixed in with my fiction is some supernatural things: vampires, witches, werewolves, and the like. I like to write when listening to music, but, of course, certain music helps with certain things. For instance, the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack is for upbeat chase-type scenes, while Phantom of the Opera is, well, I don’t know, but I wrote with it.

I don’t have a set outline for my stories, they just come to me as I write them. It’s sort of like they’re memories I’m recalling, probably from a dream I’ve had, or something. Which is why I like my writing so much…It’s part of who I am, I write what my mind sees, and granted, sometimes my mind sees frightening things, which is why my brain uses lots of description. Silly Brain.

I’ve wanted to do a Zine ever since I read the book Hard Love. I’m not going to tell you what happens, you’re going to have to read that yourself. It just so happened, my best friend had the same notion as well. So, one day, we decided to make a Zine…And that is how it was created! And it was good.

Dear Reader,

                        How are you? It has occurred to me to write an explanation letter for all of you wonderful darlings. (Is the weatherman included?) With the development of yet another Zine, a website, and book attempts it feels like I’ve been doing this for a very, very long time. Which isn’t true. I started writing about six years ago. I had an educator who inspired me to be creative and give writing my all. I haven’t stopped.

                        Over the last six years, the stories and poems have accumulated into large folders and binders. There have been adventure stories, vampire stories, witches, monsters, angst. It’s all there. (Rarely all in one piece, however.) My poems are more realistic, based more on isolated feeling than anything else. (Does that make sense? I hope not. ) The styles of the pieces have changed over the years. But I’m working on it.

                        I’m almost a self-taught author. I had some instruction by many great inspirations many years ago, but not as much since.  I’ve never taken any official writing classes, so I make a lot of beginner’s mistakes. My stories don’t have a lot of plot structure, because I prefer to explore the characters instead. Maybe that’s why I’m better fit for short stories.

                        The idea for a zine started about 2 years ago. Jereality and I both realized we had the same idea. I had been gathering pieces to make my own for a few weeks before I mentioned my intentions. She talked about hers, we decided to blend our stuff together. Neither of the zines worked out. Then, we tried again. But this time, we added a few more friends. This also, did not turn out. We’ve decided to give it another shot.
